Inspector’s notes

Unused equipment found stored in rear room. [CA] The premises of a food facility shall be free of litter and items that are unnecessary to the operation or maintenance of the facility, such as equipment that is nonfunctional or no longer used.

minorCode K26Food temperature

Frozen yogurt observed thawing out without temperature control. In plain English

Food was not kept cold enough, hot enough, cooled fast enough, or cooked or reheated to the right temperature. Bacteria grow quickly in the "danger zone" between 41°F and 135°F, which makes this one of the most important food-safety checks.

Official wording

Hot and cold water available

Inspector’s notes

Facility lacks continuous running hot water. Maximum water temperature found at 3 comp sink and mop sink measured at 65F at the beginning of inspection. Note: Specialist initially measured water temperature at hand sink next to 3 comp sink at 100F. A few seconds later, Specialist measured the 3 comp sink and did not observe hot water. Owner asked me to re-check the water temperature at the 3 comp sink and the maximum water temperature was measured at 116F but the temperature immediately started to decrease to below 100F. [CA]: Hot water shall be supplied at a minimum temperature of at least 120°F measured from the faucet throughout facility except at handwash sinks.

In plain English

The business had issues with hot or cold running water, plumbing, drains, backflow prevention, or sewage disposal. Some of these, like no hot water, can force a temporary closure until fixed.
