"STAPLE FOOD ORDINANCE: Under the Staple Food Ordinance stores are required to stock items in 10 staple food categories including: milk; cheese; eggs; meat and vegetable proteins; fruits and vegetables; 100% juice; whole grains; cereals; canned beans; and dried peas/beans/lentils. Your store has not stocked the following: Title 10, MCO 203.10 (a)-(j). Comply immediately."
Staple Foods Ordinance was not met at the time of inspection. There is no fresh produce available per ordinance requirement. There were some frozen vegetables that were available. Discussed with person in charge that per the ordinance, fresh produce must be provided to meet the requirement. Attached Staple Food Ordinance fact sheet in the message with emailed report. Discussed employee illness and tracking requirements with Person In Charge and will provide copy of State of MN Employee Illness Log with emailed report. Dried food residue of what appeared to be broken eggs was observed on shelf of the Reach In Wall Cooler at the time of inspection. A frozen puddle of what appeared to be a melted popsicle was observed on a shelf in the Reach In Wall Freezer at the time of inspection. These spills were shown to the Person IN Charge and was discussed to clean these areas. Clean these surfaces and maintain clean at all times.
Dishes, equipment, or surfaces that touch food were not properly washed, rinsed, and sanitized, or sanitizer was not at the right strength. Clean surfaces help stop germs from spreading to food.
