Provide a separate food preparation sink for washing or thawing food if a new food product is added to the menu or in an extensively remodeled food establishment that requires washing or thawing in a sink.
Observed apples available for children's snacks. There is no food prep sink on site to wash apples. Web site from supplier said to wash apples before consuming. Obtain and use fruit that do not require washing or provide precut or pre-washed fruit from supplier. If a food prep sink is going to be installed submit plans to health department for approval prior to installation.
Food was not kept cold enough, hot enough, cooled fast enough, or cooked or reheated to the right temperature. Bacteria grow quickly in the "danger zone" between 41°F and 135°F, which makes this one of the most important food-safety checks.
