Food in good condition, safe, unadulterated
In the dry storage room, on one of the storage racks, several cans of tomato sauce were observed to be severely dented with one have dents near the top seam. [CA] Food shall be inspected as soon as practical upon receipt and prior to any use, storage, or resale. [SA] PIC set the three cans aside and labeled them for their manager to return or discard.
Food was stored or handled in a way that could let germs or other material get into it, such as raw meat stored above ready-to-eat food or uncovered food. Cross-contamination is a common cause of foodborne illness.
