2-301.14 When to Wash Hands Food worker observed touching phone and did not wash hands before handling clean utensils; food worker wiping hands repeatedly on cloth towel hung on apron. Food workers shall wash hands any time hands may be contaminated, including: after touching face, using the restroom, handling soiled equipment or personal items, handling raw meats, between glove changes and before handling prepared food, clean equipment and utensils. Cloth towels are intended to be used to wipe surfaces and stored in sanitizer between uses, not as a replacement for handwashing. Education provided. Food worker asked to wash hands.
