Official wording
The business must employ at least one valid Minnesota Food Protection Manager's certification (CFPM). Find more information on the Minnesota Department of Health web page.
Inspector’s notes
There is not a MN CFPM for this location, although one manager has taken an approved class prior to six months ago. When able, send a manager to an approved class. Then use the class certificate to apply to the Minnesota Department of Health for MN CFPM before six months have passed. Find classes, the process, and the application at: https://www.health.state.mn.us/communities/environment/food/cfpm/howto.html
In plain English
A required permit, food safety certificate, trained manager, or posted sign was missing or not current. These show the business is following the rules and has trained staff.

The person in charge must be able to explain: • Their responsibility for preventing the spread of foodborne illness by a food worker • The symptoms associated with a foodborne illness • How food workers must report illness symptoms and diseases • When a food worker must be excluded from work or restricted from working with food • When a food worker can return to work
Inspector’s notes
Based on discussion, the employee health policy did not include the Person in Charge asking whether ill employees have symptoms of vomiting or diarrhea. The Person in Charge must know this to fill out the Employee Illness Log correctly. The Person in Charge must also ensure employees out with vomiting or diarrhea do not come back to work until at least 24 yours after those symptoms have ended.
