Cleaned equipment or utensils, laundered linens, or single-service or single-use articles are not stored in a clean, dry location, protected from contamination. Observed ice scoop used for the ice machine in the basement stored in a soiled container. PIC removed the ice scoop from the container to have it cleaned.
Equipment, utensils, thermometers, cutting boards, or single-use items were not in good condition, not the right type, or not stored properly.

A handwashing sign was not posted at all handwashing lavatories. Observed that there is no handwashing sign for the handwashing lavatory located behind the bar. Discussed with PIC about getting a sign posted.
Staff were not washing their hands when required, or a handwashing sink was blocked, missing soap or paper towels, or used for something else. Hands are one of the most common ways germs reach food.

Nonfood-contact surfaces are not cleaned frequently enough. 1. Dust and trash debris were observed accumulating on the floor and within the holes of the floor mat behind the bar. These areas must be thoroughly cleaned and maintained to prevent buildup and ensure sanitary conditions. 2. Biofilm growth was observed inside the drip guards at the bar. These components must be cleaned regularly to prevent microbial growth and maintain cleanliness. 3. Dust accumulation was noted on the mats on counters where clean glassware is stored. These surfaces must be cleaned frequently to avoid contamination of clean items. 4. Trash and debris were observed accumulating around the utility sink in the basement. This area must be kept clean and free of debris to maintain proper sanitation. 5. Observed dirty frozen ice water and soiled bottom in the ice freezer behind the bar. Must be cleaned.
Dishes, equipment, or surfaces that touch food were not properly washed, rinsed, and sanitized, or sanitizer was not at the right strength. Clean surfaces help stop germs from spreading to food.
