Numerous dead cockroaches (~30-40) observed across three glue traps in the kitchen area. No live or dead cockroaches observed elsewhere in the kitchen and did not observed any contributing factors (unclean kitchen, or opening that would allow harborage of vermin) within the kitchen. [CA] Food facility shall be maintain free of vermin and vermin debris. Facility shall not operate if there is a live infestation of vermin in the kitchen. It was noted by maintenance staff that school was recently treated for the vermin issue, but staff is unsure if there will be continued treatment. Discussed with food service manager for the district's central kitchen, Uma, to ensure proper pest control treatment is conducted and to provide pest control service report.
The inspector found mice, rats, cockroaches, flies, or evidence of them (like droppings) inside the business, or conditions that could attract them. Pests can spread bacteria to food and surfaces, so this is treated as one of the more serious findings.
