4.5(A)(1) - VII. Protection from Contamination - Equipment Food-Contact Surfaces and Utensils: Clean to Sight and Touch
Food-contact surfaces were not clean to the sight and touch. Observed a buildup of suspected mold on the internal food contact surfaces of the ice machine. Ensure the internal food contact surfaces of the ice machine are clean to the sight and touch. PIC discontinued using the ice machine until it can be cleaned and sanitized.
Food was stored or handled in a way that could let germs or other material get into it, such as raw meat stored above ready-to-eat food or uncovered food. Cross-contamination is a common cause of foodborne illness.

PIC moved the single-use cups.

Handwashing facility is being used for purposes other than handwashing. Observe the handwashing sink being used to store sanitizer spray bottles. Ensure the handwashing sinks are used for no other purposes than handwashing. PIC moved the sanitizer.
Staff were not washing their hands when required, or a handwashing sink was blocked, missing soap or paper towels, or used for something else. Hands are one of the most common ways germs reach food.
