An employee was observed handling food without washing his/her hands after cleaning tables in the outdoor area. In addition, an employee was observed handling money the register machine and then proceeding to prepare teas. [Corrective action] Any action that requires hand washing, employees must wash and dry hands before returning to any food handling actiivities.

Staff were not washing their hands when required, or a handwashing sink was blocked, missing soap or paper towels, or used for something else. Hands are one of the most common ways germs reach food.
More about handwashing problemsWarm water temperature at both handwashing facilities in the employee restrooms was measured at 70 °F. [Corrective action] Provide warm water at each handwashing facility. Warm water shall be at least 100 °F but not greater than 108 °F.
